Work history:

Dr Eales’s career spanned manufacturing, management consulting and banking. His manufacturing experience began at the major chemical company AECI in Johannesburg and included Ralph Symonds in Sydney where he was joint managing director. In consulting he worked with the Cohen Bahr Lindsell group in Johannesburg and later with the international firm, McKinsey and Company (Sydney and San Francisco offices). He also consulted in a personal capacity with major Australian corporations. The last ten years of his business career were spent in banking with Westpac in Sydney and Barclays at their head office in Canary Wharf in London. He retired from business in 2005.

Other

Robert Eales was involved with a charitable organisation, The Housing Connection, for nearly two decades and served several terms as its President. The organisation supports people with an intellectual disability and other disabilities in Sydney’s North Shore area.

He is married with three children and two grandchildren and lives in Sydney, Australia.
